Dove launched ‘Dove Ad Makeover’ a groundbreaking Facebook app that hands the power of advertising over to women. Buying up ad space that might’ve previously been filled with the guilt-inducing adverts, they gave their fans the chance to replace them with compliments.

”Get a fit figure in 6 weeks‘… ‘Lose weight now ‘ these are only a couple of the negative messages we’re compelled to see online consistently, via different advertisements.  However, imagine a scenario in which the intensity of promoting was in your grasp. Regardless of whether we are staring at the TV or looking for another pair of pants, there’s no break from the people endeavouring to make a buck to the detriment of our body image.

The result that came out was tremendous, 71% of the women in the Dove Ad Makeover expressed that they felt much more beautiful as a result of the campaign.
