Anil Kapoor & Aishwariya Rai To Talk About Body Shaming In A Bold Way

Fanney Khan – The upcoming cinematic venture of Aishwariya Rai and Anil Kapoor will take up the important topic of body shaming. The producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra says that the issue has been dominant throughout the world, and therefore it is necessary to highlight it.

“Fanney Khan is a beautiful father and daughter story. We have a new girl playing a 16-year-old daughter. It picks up the cause of a young girl in a big way. And you will see the film in many layers. It’s about her aspirations of getting popular.”

“At the same time, it’s about the whole body shaming of a girl – most of the girls not just in India, but around the world go through… The male gaze thing or female gaze also… (which is) very scary,” Mehra reveals the story sketch to IANS.

Previously, rumours were afloat that Aishwariya was extremely upset upon the casting of R.Madhavan opposite her. But, the film-maker has strongly denied such speculations doing round in media. In his statement, Mehra clarified:

“It is quite unfortunate that such false and baseless stories are created to grab attention. There is zero truth to that, we are all a team and Fanney Khan is a dear project to the whole team.”

Fanney Khan is basically the remake of Oscar nominated Dutch movie Everybody’s Famous. The movie stars Aishwariya Rai, Anil Kapoor and R. Madhavan, and is directed by Atul Majrekar.
