Amongst the noise, the hustle and almost deafening traffic blares of Saddar, quietly sits a revolting impact; Art Council. Art Council is more than just preservation of culture, it resurrected the once dying art. It moved beyond the stage shows while subtly introducing art forms that were socially acceptable.
It fosters a space where contemporary ideas thrive without losing the traditional spirit while also connecting the essence of western plays into the Pakistani context.
Once known as the limited space for theater and art has now taken up a fraction of society. It is a hub for all the aspiring artists.
From Mushairas to modern panels, art council has achieved it all under one roof.

Pakistan Literature Festival
The Pakistan Literature festival organized by the Arts Council of Karachi. Art Council has become one of the most vibrant platform for literary and cultural dialogue. The conversations that are often neglected, deemed “too forward” or unheard of are also honored . It challenges the conservative narratives through literature while also celebrating the rich and diverse culture of Pakistan.
Hafeez Khan, Irshad Amin and Muhammad Mustafa touched upon the subject of neglected languages while discussing “Saraiki Language and Literature, possibilities and the worlds”
The panel in one discussion also challenged the education system in Pakistan and questioned if it is moving forward? This debate framed the conversation towards inclusion and also welcoming of more social science subjects.
World culture festival
The uproar of a celebration was heard in Karachi as it welcomed 39 day World cultural festival (WCF). It celebrated the art of over 1,100 artists and entertained technicians from 142 countries to the Arts Council
The world witnessed a magnanimous celebration of art, culture and heritage .There were painting exhibitions, dance and acting workshops, talks, film screenings, theatre performances and concert. A holistic experience that defined the art beyond words and approached it through expressions, poetry, storytelling, and music.
At WCF the audiences witnessed a diverse range from theater plays such as “Kheltey Raho” and “Taleem –e- Balghan”. Natasha Baig and Meesha Shafi also performed an energetic music festival. The dance performances were also held like “Mi raqsam”
The WCF also introduced a new concept –Film Segment. It is a dynamic new platform that brings cinematic voices from around the globe to the heart of South Asia. As part of the larger WCF & Summit, held annually at the Arts Council of , Karachi ,this curated segment celebrates storytelling that transcends borders, languages, and genres.

A platform for youth emerging voices
The center stage is not just established names the spotlight is also and emerging young voices also takes the center stage. From open-mic poetry sessions where young writers test their words on eager audiences, to interactive workshops where students sketch, perform, or even debate, every corner buzzes with creativity. Mushairas echo with fresh perspectives, and theatre rehearsals invite curious visitors to peek behind the scenes. The council’s energy is contagious: you can see new voices learning, performing, and collaborating, turning every event into a playground for ideas, where Pakistan’s next generation of artists and storytellers come alive.
