Babri Masjid Disagreements to End

Babri Mosque, located in Ayodoh in India, has been a matter of dispute for long, which might come to an end, finally.

Demolished back in 1992, Babri Mosque was a matter of dispute since a long time. Hindu extremist parties considered the mosque to be built on a demolished temple site. Archaeologically, the existence of a former temple has not been proved as such. The demolition of the mosque rose many disputes, not only in India, but had extended to Bangladesh too. Many people were killed, as well as were left homeless because of the fights. The case kept on running, until a verdict came out in 2010. The verdict divided the site in three parts, leaving one to the Muslims and two to the Hindus.

The Babri Masjid dispute never came to an end even after the verdict. Uneasiness continued in the region and the dispute was left unsettled. Now, Chief Justice of India, Rajan Gagoi, has given a deadline of 5 PM (local time) to the parties to present their arguments in the case. “Enough is enough. By 5 PM the matter is going to be over” said Gagoi. The hearing has been continuing since the last forty days, where top judge is heading a five-judge bench. The upcoming verdict has to be accepted by all, regardless of religions.

Babri Masjid issue has become a reason for the loss of many lives, be it of a Hindu or a Muslim. Many people lost their homes and many lost their jobs due to this one place. Chief Justice wants to end the issue as soon as possible. Gagoi is about to retire on 17th November 2019, and he wants to announce the verdict before he leaves the seat. And to be honest, this issue has to come to an end, or the dispute would only take further lives and nothing else.
