French carmaker Bugatti, released La Voiture Noire, it arrives on Bugatti’s 110th anniversary year, it is indeed a unique car, having a 16-cylinder engine with a displacement of 8 liters that creates 1,103 kW/1,500 PS and 1,600 Newton-metres of torque.
From the stylistic point of view, this proves to be a definite standout the dorsal seam running up along the bonnet, between the windows and over the roof of the body makes it quite distinctive. The rivets though have been left out.
Priced at $18.9 million (after tax), making it the most expensive car to be produced till date.
Winklemann is the former President and CEO of Italian sports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini, this is what he had to say about La Voiture Noire:
”The true form of luxury is individuality,” said Winkelmann. “La Voiture Noire is now at the cutting edge of automobile production. It is a sculptural beauty with unique technology, the ideal grand tourer.”
He went on to say, “With La Voiture Noire, we are paying homage to our heritage and bringing speed, technology, luxury, and aesthetics forward to a new era, with our automotive haute couture, we have shown what Bugatti is capable of”, Winkelmann concluded.
The vehicle has already been sold to a Bugatti enthusiast, according to a statement by Bugatti. The name of the buyer, however, remains undisclosed but rumor has it that it was purchased by Ferdinand Piech, who is Ferdinand Porsche’s grandson and the chairman of VW Group from 1993 to 2002.
