Cambridge University Cancels In-Person Classes Till Summer of 2021
Cambridge University has cancelled all of its in-person lectures and shifted them online for the academic year of 2020-21.
Cambridge University has cancelled all of its in-person lectures and shifted them online. There will be no face-to-face lectures for the academic year of 2020-21 due to the pandemic. As the whole world has to practice social distancing and follow all the other guidelines, everything is being shifted online. However, the announcement has been made to shift classes online till the summer of 2021.
Universities all across the globe have closed their campuses due to COVID-19, including Cambridge University. In a statement, Graham Virgo, the university’s senior pro-vice-chancellor mentioned:
“The university is constantly adapting to changing advice as it emerges during this pandemic. Given that it is likely that social distancing will continue to be required, the university has decided there will be no face-to-face lectures during the next academic year. Lectures will be available online,”
Cambridge University is one of those universities that rely on small group learning and tutorials rather than lectures. But due to coronavirus, all lectures and learning material has been shifted online. Many other universities in different parts of the world have done the same such as McGill University and many more.
However, many universities will be charging a full semester fee for the academic year being carried online. All students will be made clear about the upcoming year and campus life, which will be close to non-existent.
In the UK, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson announced an aid package for the country’s universities to combat their financial difficulties. This aid is meant to help universities in the UK to maintain financial stability.
