Child Abuse has been one of those things which have been ignored for long and has rarely been looked into. However, there have been many registered and even more unregistered case when it comes to pedophiles, especially in the rural areas of Pakistan. Sadly, these cases came on the headlines after social media became a prior source of information rather than the news channels, as the information can’t be altered and has to be put forward the way it is.
Fridous Ashiq Awan, on Tuesday, told that the PM of Pakistan wanted to impose death penalty for the culprits involved in child abuse but had restricted that to sexual abuse only. Sexual abuse, sure is a crime so heinous that it might leave one in a traumatic condition for a long time, however there are other forms of abuse that might leave a child scarred for life, which consists upon forced slavery, working on small puncture shops, asked to beg on roads, and these all lie under realm of child abuse.
The KPK minister had this to say “My personal desire is to speedy trial of and death sentence for people involved in the inhumane act”
This law should be enforced on the people of Pakistan as soon as possible because child abuse, if only seen in regards to sexual violence, this is getting out of hands slowly and gradually. From Teachers to Maulvis and from Uncles to Family Friends, regardless, everyone should be punished for their wrongdoings when it comes to such an action and the innocents should be brought to justice.
