“Elon’s Behaviour is a Distraction and Embarrassment” Says SpaceX Employees

The face of the globally famous tech company "SpaceX", Elon Musk, is now facing criticism against his behaviour by his employees.

An official statement to SpaceX employees criticising CEO Elon Musk’s recent actions has generated a lively debate in the company’s internal chat system. Employees are urged to openly or anonymously sign on to the letter’s ideas, with a verified form of the statement being given to SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell’s desk.

The letter explains how Musk’s activities, as well as recent charges of sexual misconduct levelled against him, have harmed SpaceX’s reputation. Employees “across the spectrum of seniority, gender, ethnicity, and professional responsibilities participated in” composing the letter, according to the paper. The identity of the individuals who authored the letter is unknown, and the workers who posted it in the private chat function have not replied to demands for comment.

Musk has been busy lately, and his Twitter activity can be particularly annoying. In April, he tagged a photo of Bill Gates with an emoticon of a pregnant guy, with some very inappropriate and insulting banter.   He replied to a post about Jeff Bezos’ aerospace business Blue Origin last year. Musk is also aiming to acquire Twitter.

The letter, which was shared on Wednesday on an official SpaceX Microsoft Teams channel with over 2,600 workers, claims that the firm is not following its well-publicized “No Asshole” rule and its zero-tolerance sexual assault rule.

“SpaceX’s current systems and culture do not live up to its stated values, as many employees continue to experience unequal enforcement of our oft-repeated “No Asshole” and “Zero Tolerance” policies.” The letter states. “This must change.”

Employees were invited to sign the letter by completing a questionnaire or reading a QR code, but the number of signatures was not instantly available. T the letter sparked over a hundred replies in the Teams channel, with many workers concurring with the spirit of the communication. Musk’s actions were also said to embarrass several commentators. Others want for the corporation to address top leadership conduct and sexual harassment charges more effectively.

The letter comes about a month after a report claimed that SpaceX paid a former employee a $250,000 settlement after she accused Musk of exposing himself to her and proposing to her during a massage, an accusation that included Musk pledging to purchase her a horse. Musk refuted the charges, claiming there’s “a lot more to this tale.”

“If I’m prone to sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time it comes to light in my 30-year career,” he told the site. In a Twitter reply, Musk made a joke about the tale with some inappropriate banter.

It’s not the first time that sexual misconduct has been brought up at SpaceX. In December, a female SpaceX employee penned an article on the website Lioness about her encounter with the company’s “pervasive sexual harassment.” She also chastised SpaceX’s HR department for their handling of her concerns.
