Firdous Jamal’s comments were no doubt very rude. He is a legendary actor, but for him to say something like Mahira should be doing roles of mothers, is not okay. We should not normalize this behaviour.
After Firdous’s comments, Mahira replied in a tweet:

Momina Duraid supported Mahira Khan due to which she banned the veteran actors. Half of the internet is on Firdous’s side while the other half is supporting Momina. Many people are saying that he should not be treated in this manner.

I would not want to waste or mince my words but would simply say that we are ashamed of him being a part of our fraternity and as a female producer would clearly state that my company MD Productions would not work with him again in any capacity because of his sexist, regressive and discriminatory remarks

This whole fiasco has started over just one comment which we understand is rude but I think we should be more tolerant. Freedom of speech should be used in a proper manner and we should keep in mind to be caring.

Our Verdict:
What we can say about this whole scenario is that we should give respect and then we’ll get respect in return. No body likes to hear opinions and comments about themselves and we totally support Mahira.
Momina’s behaviour is not acceptable because no one should be treated in this manner. This is not acceptable which means that there is something wrong on both sides.
