In a tweet on June 18, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Overseas Pakistanis & HRD Zulfi Bukhari announced that the government has launched a portal for unemployed overseas Pakistanis.

According to Bukhari, returning Pakistanis would be able to apply for employment abroad again, certified training and register for financial assistance from the government.

Reportedly, he previously stated that 200,000 Pakistanis working abroad have become unemployed due to COVID-19. SAPM Bukhari also talked to Prime Minister Imran Khan on June 16, which led to the approval for resumption of international flights, as well as bring back the stranded Pakistan from abroad.
Initially, the flights will operate from Gulf nations and after the safe repatriation of Pakistanis stranded there. The unemployed and labourers will be brought in the first phase of the plan. Those who are in other countries will be brought back as well.
We hope that the Government Portal for Unemployed Overseas Pakistanis is a success!
