Hafsah Faizal, an American author of young adult novels, best known for her New York Times best-selling novel We Hunt The Flame has managed to secure a position on the Forbes 30 under 30 lists for incredible creation called IceyDesigns. This makes Faizal the first Niqabi on Forbes!

Hafsah Faizal was born in Florida and raised in California. She is of Srilankan and Arab descent but is an American-Muslim. Faizal was initially homeschooled from the age of 13, it was also at this age where she began to develop her passion for design and art. With continuing designing, she created her website called IceyDesigns at the age of 17.
Moreover, Hafsah Faizal went on to name the famous novelists Leigh Bardugo, Roshani Chokshi, and Renée Ahdieh as her inspirations- she says that these people drove her into writing and becoming a novelist herself.
In October 2013, Hafsah Faizal published her first young adult novel called ‘Unbreathable,’ which was set in a distant future where Earth was destroyed and humanity settled on a new planet devastated by food shortages and oxygen scarcity. She believes that her love for design is what persuades her to write, and she likes to call herself a visual writer.
Last year, Ms. Faizal leaped at her career by publishing her book ‘We Hunt The Flame’ which immediately made her the best-selling author in the New York Times! The novel is a young adult book that portrays a fantasy story set in ancient Arab.
Apart from being the NYT best-selling author, Hafsah Faizal also runs her very own design website known as IceyDesigns. She manages to carry her passion for writing along with her love of design, her website offers various products ranging from candles to journals.
