Marilyn Monroe’s statue that sat atop an artwork in Hollywood was stolen by a thief who was seen sawing off by a witness. This statue was situated on an Eiffel Tower look alike small tower before starting of the Walk of Fame.
The statue was of Marilyn Monroe who was in her iconic pose from the movie “The Seven Year Itch” and was perched atop of Ladies of Hollywood Gazebo. It was a form of recognition of all the work she did as a female for Hollywood along with other females as well.
The statue had vanished upon which police started investigating and found out some finger prints but no arrest has been made up till now. Authorities said that a witness had seen a man climb up the tower and sawed off the statue.
Los Angeles Councilman Mitch O’Farrell told KNBC-TV that:
“I am calling this the great Marilyn caper of 2019, we have a witness who saw someone climb this structure and saw off the statue at the top.”
The footage of security camera only shows a man jumping off the artwork and walking away with a bag pack however, there is no footage of the actual theft.
