Italy miss out on a second consecutive World Cup qualification
The Azzurri will not be in Qatar for this year's World Cup.
Italy vs North Macedonia has resulted in the Azzurri missing their second consecutive World Cup.
The last minute goal from Aleksander Trajkovski of North Macedonia in extra time was all that separated the Macedonians from the Italians.
Despite having 32 shots and much of the possession, the Italian football team failed to convert their chances.

They will have to wait till 2026 to qualify again for the World Cup. Questions will be asked of the manager and players. The poor performance does not bode well for their manager Roberto Mancini.
Calls for him to be sacked are already making way across social media and the Italian media. Many of the players have been scrutinized for their lack of creativity on the field.
As for the Macedonians, they are jubilant following their historical win. Scenes of mass euphoria were witnessed in the Macedonian capital Skopje, were many celebrated their team’s triumphant victory.
One thing is for sure, the results of the Italy vs North Macedonia match will go down as the biggest accomplishment for the North Macedonian football team.
The Macedonians will take on Portugal in the finals of the Path C play offs. Portugal sealed off a 3-1 win over Turkey to clinch their place in the finals.
Elsewhere, Wales beat Austria to reach the finals of the Path A play offs. However, they have to wait till June to play the finals.
That is because the other semi final match in Path A between Scotland and Ukraine has been postponed. This is due to the ongoing conflict that is currently taking place in Ukraine
Finally, Sweden beat Czech Republic in the semi final match of the Path B play offs. They will now take on Poland in a match for one of the three final European spots in the World Cup.
Elsewhere, Ecuador, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay have all clenched their spots at this year’s World Cup.
The qualifications continue today with teams from Africa and North America fighting out to secure their places at the tournament.
