In Pakistan, street food is somewhat of a national treasure. Everyone loves the ready-to-eat food or drink that can be grabbed off of a portable thailla or dhabba. Be it parathay roll, channa chaat or a refreshing glass of limka; these are food that are truly beloved to every desi foodie. They also serve as a genuine representation of the city’s ethnic surrounding, culture and tradition.
Considering the increasing popularity food festivals seem to be gaining in the country, the idea of holding one devoted specifically to street food arose, and was embraced with open arms. Karachi Street Food Festival is the ultimate way of showcasing and celebrating the quality and immense diversity of our exotic food.
Fast forward to Karachi Street Food Festival- Day 2
It was truly a day packed to the brim with absolutely DELICIOUS food from 50+ stalls including my absolute favorites Wingitt and Paramount, entertaining magicians and performers, and ended with a bang when Asim Azhar took to stage to rock out our worlds with his melodious drone.
Upon walking through the entrance and into Shaheed Benazir Bhutto park, your senses are taken over by the rich aroma of beef patties sizzling on grills and the comforting smell Kashmiri chai ready to engulf you in its warmth. You can even find authentic Chinese soup being prepared in a wok!

The seating arrangement was done in the typical dhaba thakat style, which only further added to their mission of dedicating an entire night to enjoy street food in the most authentic of ways.
Furthermore, the festival also boasted top notch entertainment and fun for the whole family. The ever-playing music set an extremely fun background for all the visitors. Even the kids had a wonderful time with the fire-blowing magicians and clowns performing shocking tricks!
