Labor City Opened in Sukkur By Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari recently inaugurated the Labor City in Sukkur to provide free-of-cost homes to the underprivileged people.

On Monday, 18th January, Pakistan People’s Party’s chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, initiated a labor city in Sukkur’s Labor Colony. According to sources, 1,024 flats in the city would be given to workers from the Sindh labor department.

Once the inauguration of the Labor City was done, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari handed over allotment letters to over 30 laborers. He further reflected on previous laws passed by his family and PPP. For example, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given rights in the Constitution to laborers in Pakistan while Benazir Bhutto had started a stock option in factories for them.

Moreover, he stated that the Sindh government had started a Labor City in the province and made many labor laws for the rights of laborers under which they got rights to register themselves. Bilawal said the PPP was working for the rights of laborers when many government institutions were rendering them unemployed.

Furthermore, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that he plans on inaugurating the Benazir Mazdoor Card Scheme after the Labor City and also devise a plan for building free-of-cost housing for the laborers across Sindh.

Before the general elections, Imran Niazi announced to build houses for the underprivileged, and at that time, the PPP speculated that by announcing the Labor City, he had “stolen” one part of Z.A. Bhutto’s plan. However, Niazi planned houses by occupying islands for builders and industrialists to help make their black money white and not for the laborers, Bilawal said.

He further went on to shame the Niazi government for stripping poor people of their homes in the name of removing encroachments in Larkana and Sukkur. Bilawal also recalled the inauguration of the Children Emergency Satellite Centre in the Civil Hospital of Sukkur along with the Labor City. Free-of-cost medical facilities would be available in the satellite center consisting of 40 beds.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Information Minister, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, PPP central information secretary, Shazia Atta Marri, Sindh Transport Minister, Awais Qadir Shah, Minister for Labour, Education, and Literacy, Saeed Ghani, Nisar Khuhro and others for the inauguration of the Labor City.
