As soon as we stepped into Marcels, a galore of freshly baked bread welcomed us, one thing which instantly caught our eye was the great detail to aesthetic. The restaurant was well lit, not gloomy as most restaurants now tend to be. There was a glass window which provided ample sunlight as well.

The restaurant is divided into two areas, smoking and non-smoking.
Moving onto the food, The first to arrive was a bread basket with an assortment of freshly made slices of bread loaves each possessing its own distinct taste; this comprised of white bread and brown bread both. There was pane Bianco bread(Comprising of sundried tomatoes, basil, garlic), multigrain bread and white bread.
Onto the mains, we ordered Premium beef Tenderloin Steak-with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes and Pan seared chicken fillet which was served with sauteed pasta.

The temperature of the steak I opted for was medium-well, and they delivered just that. The steak is a definite must-have,it was succulent and juicy-even before it was doused with sauce and it hit all the right notes. The sauce was rich and creamy with mushroom bits accentuating the taste further.

The Pan-seared chicken fillet was drenched with tomato and red pepper sauce, the chicken was not overcooked and was juicy, the pasta complimented it well containing sliced vegetables and more of the sauce. It wasn’t as spicy as anticipated, however, that’s just a personal preference, and the servers can be instructed to make it spicy according to your palette.

For drinks, we opted for Pina Colada and Kiwi Colada:
The pina colada was a tad bit milkier then I would prefer but great for those who love a strong taste of coconut milk in their drink.
The kiwi colada was delicious with just the right proportion of sweet to citrus-y, the taste of fresh kiwi definitely made this drink stand out.
For desserts, we decided to keep it light an opt for an assortment of French macarons.
Finding perfectly baked macarons in Karachi is tough, but now we’ve discovered this restaurant does them perfectly.
The flavors ordered were; Creme Brulee, Strawberry, and Orange Chocolate. If we had to pick a facorite it would be orange chocolate-Macaron shell of zesty orange filled with bitter dark chocolate, cutting out any overly sweet bits.
Brownie points for the excellent service, the waiters were vigilant at all times and the manager was attentive as well inquiring about the food and whether there was anything else we needed.
