The Punjab cabinet announced a lifelong pension scheme for the widows of government employees. This decision came during the 28th session of the provincial cabinet conducted by CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz. The cabinet has taken the decision to secure future of widow of government employee and reward them for their services. Along with this decision, many other developments were made to benefit the people of Pakistan.
Moreover, The Punjab government has raised the provincial minimum wage to Rs40,000 per month and ensured lifetime pensions for widows of government employees. The bar has been increased to meet the minimum requirement for basic necessities raised due to inflation.
As another necessary development, cabinet approved allocation of 1,220 flats for industrial workers in Sunder, Kasur and Taxila labor colonies. These flats will be distributed via balloting to the worker. Additionally, steps to construct an additional 3,000 flats free of cost for these workers have been instructed.
The adoption of lifetime pensions for widows of government workers, which offer families who have lost their major breadwinners long-term financial security, was one of the other significant choices.
