MSB School Dubai Receives First Lego League USA Programming Award
The student group from MBS Private School in Dubai "Creative Engineers" topped the Explore division in the international competition in Houston.
The pupil team “Creative Engineers” from MSB Private School Dubai received the “Coding Award” in the “Explore” section at the First Lego League (FLL) contest in the United States.
On April 22, Houston City hosted the competition, which brought together robotics teams from schools from all around the world. Using robotics and programming challenges, this effort seeks to motivate and inform young people about careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The contest, which featured 50 teams from across the globe in the FLL Explore category, encouraged the teams to work together and think artistically to solve practical challenges by mixing coding with playful robotics and building a powered LEGO model.
Seven kids from grades 4 to 6 made up the MSB Creative Engineers team, which focused on Pakistan’s “energy crisis” and came up with answers using LEGO Spike Essential. Models for producing electricity, distribution, storage, and sustainable use were part of the answer. The crew had invested months practising its robotics and programming abilities in order to be ready.
The head of school of MSB Private School in Dubai, Nafisa Arsiwala, said, “We are thrilled by this fantastic win.

The Creative Engineers’ mentors, Farida Nasir and Tasneem Bhatia, expressed their gratitude for receiving the FIRST Lego League Coding Award. “We are honoured to have won the Coding Award at the FIRST Lego League competition. It was a challenging and rewarding experience and we learned so much along the way. We hope to inspire other young people to pursue their passions and strive for excellence.”
