The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has issued a warning against Cybercrime and phishing attacks. Using fraudulent methods, the hackers are attempting to deceive users into sharing personal information to hack into WhatsApp.
Furthermore, the NCERT team explains that hackers use fake links and counterfeit verification codes to trick users. Hacked accounts can be used to disseminate false information, commit fraud, or gain unauthorized access to personal images and contact lists.
WhatsApp users have been advised to avoid unauthorized links related to address verification, rewards, or surveys. To avoid hacking and phishing attacks, verify messages only through official and authenticated sources.
For precautionary measures:
