Oscar Nominations 2022: Who is up for the win ?

This years nominations were released yesterday

The moment that we all have been waiting for. The announcement of the Oscar 2022 nominations have finally been released.

There was quite a buzz around which film and performers will get the nod. Many within the American entertainment circle have been making their predictions about this year’s nominations.

However, the time for speculation and predictions are over. The Oscar 2022 nominations have been released and lets just say the predictions have been mostly right.

Oscar 2022 nominations

Critically acclaimed films such as “Dune”, “Belfast” and “The Power of Dog” have been nominated for best picture. These were all the films that pundits had predicted would be up for the nomination for best picture.

In terms of direction, Ryusuke Hamaguchi becomes the third Japanese director to be nominated for best director. His movie, “Drive My Car” becomes the first Japanese film to be nominated for Best Picture.

When it comes to the acting department, the pundits had mostly got it right. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the snub of Lady Gaga for her impeccable role in the film “House of Gucci”.

Oscar 2022 nominations

In fact, the entire film was snubbed by the Academy as it did not receive a single nomination.

While the 2022 Academy Award nominations have been mostly accurately predicted, it is still uncertain who will win. For that we all have to tune in on 27th March 2022 to see who takes the Oscars this time around.
