Our traditional Pakistani cuisine proved to be a source of major attraction for visitors at the Charity Bazaar, organized annually by the Delhi Commonwealth Women Association on Sunday in the Indian capital city; New Delhi.
The Ladies Club of the Pakistan High Commission, lead by the High Commissioner’s wife Mahwish Mahmood, managed Pakistan’s participation in the event and the cooking team was lead by Chef Yasir Suleman. His menu of choice consisted of traditionally significant dishes like chicken tikka, biryani, and chapli kebab.
Among the attendees were members of the Delhi-based diplomatic corps and numerous other segments of New Delhi’s social circles, all of who visited the Pakistani stall in massive numbers, leaving with their tummies sighing in happiness.
Pakistan’s participation in the DCWA Bazaar served as an attempt on the High Commissioner’s part to further facilitate the diplomatic efforts being made to strengthen ties between the neighboring countries.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Sohail Mahmood stated that the Bazaar was one of the most highly anticipated events in Delhi’s cultural calendar and it was a joy to be able to participate and show off Pakistan’s cultural diversity.
