The media watchdog, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), has served severe warning notices to ARY Communications, HUM TV, and Geo Entertainment on the pretext of airing “indecent content”. The notice has revealed that the warning has come after the constant violations of the code of conduct on different occasions, and if the matter is highlighted further it would be punishable through the laws.

The notice sent to ARY Communications had demanded for an explanation. After reviewing the response issued by the channel, the media watchdog revealed that the broadcast broadcast was against “provisions of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015 as well as socio-cultural norms and values of the country”.
As far as the reason behind the violation is considered, it hasn’t been revealed publicly yet. It should be noted that ARY is the only landing rights owner of HBO and it might have something to do with that.
On the other hand, an anonymous PEMRA source has revealed that Geo Entertainment was issues notice for drama serial ‘Khali Haath’, while HUM was warned for ‘Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain’.
