After invitations cards for Bakhtawar’s engagement ceremony circulated on social media, people began speculating intricate details about the husband-to-be. However, the PPP has quenched the public’s queries.
As usual, people wondered, who is the fiancé? What does he do? Is it an arranged marriage? Where does he live? These queries led to many sharing unverified photos and information about Bakhtawar’s fiancé.
Amidst the fabricated stories and speculations, the Pakistan People’s Party decided to clear the air, put an end to the rumours and clarify “all the misinformation being shared on social and electronic media”.
“Mahmood Choudhry is the son of Mohammad Younas and Begum Suraiya Choudhry who hail from the old town of Lahore, Pakistan. Mr Younas migrated to the United Arab Emirates in 1973 where through hard-work he established businesses in the construction and transport industry,” the statement read.
The statement also revealed birth details of Bakhtawar’s fiancé, born on July 28, 1988 (which makes him 32 years old).
The statement further revealed that “He completed his primary schooling in Abu Dhabi and secondary schooling in the United Kingdom. Mahmood further went on to study law at the University of Durham.”
The couple will reside in the UAE where Mahmood runs his family’s businesses.
The engagement’s venue is the Bilawal House, where the couple’s Mehndi will also take place, scheduled for January 27, 2021.
Moreover, all guests have been requested to send a scanned copy of their negative COVID-19 PCR test result 24 hours prior to Bakhtawar’s engagement ceremony.
