Qatar May Be Hosting the Snooker Tournaments This Year

Muhammad Asif was the IBSF World Champion for 2012 and 2019, and the Asian Team Snooker Champion along with Babar Masih. What do you think our chances are this year?

A recent announcement indicates that Qatar may be hosting back to back international snooker tournaments in Doha this year. The decision was made in an online meeting of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) with President Mubarak Al-Khayarin in the chair.

Qatar has offered to host  IBSF World Championships — men’s and women’s events, along with the Masters. Along with this, Doha will also be hosting World Under-18 and Under-21 events.

However, both Australia and Russia are interested in hosting the Junior World Championship next year.

Last year, Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif was the IBSF World Snooker Champion. However, since then, COVID-19 pandemic has been rising and we have not been able to see any new matches for snooker.
