Scuffle Erupts in Turkey’s Parliament over Syria

Turkey has been in a war with Syria since long, a war which could have been avoided. Over the issue, a Parliamentarian gave an statement against Erdogan which led to a fist fight in the Parliament.

In the start of 2020, Turkey and Syria came under conflict. The conflict started, because the Turkish Government feared the Kurds living near the border. Who weren’t even such a big threat to Turkey. However, Erdogan ordered the attack and the war begin. Just a few months prior to engaging themselves against Turks, Syrian Forces had finished fighting ISIS in Syria. All these fights that the Kurds fought were against ISIS, alongside USA. However, when it came to Turkey-Syria conflict, USA backed out.

During this conflict many people became homeless and lost their lives. Not only the local Syrians had to be displaced, but the Turkish Army was also facing serious crisis. According to the sources, around 60 Turkish Solider have been killed in Syria. Sadly, this is the most casualty Turkey has seen in decades.

Republican People’s Party (CHP)’s Legislator, Engin Ozkoc, had accused the President for the very same reason. He said that the President had disrespected the soliders that were killed in the war against Syria. He further called the Erdogan “dishonourable, ignoble, low and treacherous”.

When the two opposing parties met in the Parliament, well things were awry for them. The two parties started fighting against each other, which started from a fist fight and ended at people getting injured badly.

Here is a video, as to what happened in the Parliament.

Well, regardless of their internal politics, Erdogan’s decision doesn’t seems sane. Yet, he might seek for negotiations today, along with Russia. So we can expect to see the Turkey-Syria War coming to end soon.
