Social Media Platform X, Formerly Known As Twitter, Down Globally
Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, is down globally according to the surveillance website Downdetector on Tuesday.
As reported by Downdetector.com, social networking platforms X and X Pro experienced global disruptions early on Thursday.
On the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, users could not see tweets with the caption “Welcome to X!” Just before 0600 GMT, reports of issues with the platform started accumulating on the surveillance website Downdetector.
On X Pro, the former TweetDeck, users experienced loading problems and a “Waiting for posts” notice.
Access problems with X and X Pro were reported by over 47,000 US customers, based on data from Downdetector. Social media users who could not post on X shared updates about the outage on competing platforms like Facebook, Threads, and Reddit.
By compiling updates from multiple sources, especially users, Downdetector keeps track of outages.
At 10:30 am, there were almost 1,000 complaints of outages across Pakistan. A little after noon, users in Pakistan were able to regain access to X.
X did not respond to requests for comment or information about the cause of the outage right away.
X is now dealing with several challenges, such as an EU investigation under a law intended to prevent hate speech and misinformation, the backlash against the website for how it handled the recent violence in Dublin, and the departure of well-known sponsors.
Internal documents addressed to employees and obtained by tech site The Verge indicate that Elon Musk’s company is currently valued at just over fifty per cent of the forty-four billion dollars that he paid for it in October 2022.
