Sofia Vergara, the famous Modern Family star, has been deemed the highest paid actress in 2020! On Friday, 2nd October, Forbes published a list of the top 10 highly paid actresses of the year. Several actresses such as Angelina Jolie, Gal Gadot, and Meryl Streep all cut into the top 10.
However, it was no surprise to Sofia Vergara at the number as the highest paid actress. She has been leading the screen since the past decade, given her tv series ‘Modern Family,’ and has recently been judging at America’s Got Talent. Vergara earned up to $43 million in the year June 2019 to 2020, and while America’s Got Talent plays a huge role in that sum; a lot of it is also the multiple endorsements she took up.
Moreover, the highest paid actress, earned around $50,000 for an episode of the final season of her Emmy award-winning show Modern Family. Similarly, Forbes further stated that Vergara gets approximately $10 million per season for America’s Got Talent as it is the most-watched American competition shows.
The coronavirus outbreak put a hold on the entire Hollywood industry, many big budgets films have been paused which is why Scarlett Johansson, Black Widow, is nowhere to be seen on the highest paid actress list since her Marvel movie is yet to be released.

All ten of the actresses combined earned up to $254 million in the past year, although it was 20% down from last year whereas the highest-paid actors 2020 made up to $550 million combined with Dwayne Johnson at number 1 with $87.5 million.
