The storm, Barry, is not that far away and authorities have alerted the state of Louisiana to evacuate it’s residential areas as soon as possible in order to limit casualties. It’s said that this storm will be causing flooding in the state.
Barry’s storm surge is expected to be relatively less compared to the storm Micheal from last year. The storm is smaller and less organized than the previous one which is why it will not cause that much damage, but it will be increasing water levels which will cause flooding.
Needham said:
Even if a community is not flooded by saltwater, elevated salt water levels along the coast can contribute to flooding by slowing the drainage process

The National Hurricane Center noticed that the winds had increased to near 50 miles per hour and they mentioned that this could be danger and may bring “life-threatening flooding”. President Trump also declared state emergency in Louisiana.
