Islamophobia is a disease that has been ruining the lives of many Muslims for a decade now and though people are spreading awareness on the matter and are trying to find a peaceful solution, we are a long way from changing the general perspective of how a religion of 1.8 billion people is not all about war and that all excluding a few are of peace and love.

There are many individuals who have come forth with unique ideas that are all changing the world for the better. Asad J Malik is one of those unique individuals, Asad Malik is a Pakistani born artist who currently resides in Bennington, Vermont as stated by his twitter. Mr. Asad Malik is the founder of 1RIC which is also his artist name. 1RIC is the studio of Augmented Reality, it is the first exclusively narrative-based AR studios, focused on bringing underrepresented voices and stories to the public, it’s rooted in what Asad Malik calls “Cultural Augment” – 1RIC is the first exclusively narrative-based AR studios, focused on bringing underrepresented voices and stories to the public. link to the website – https://1ric.com/
Terminal 3 is the latest project of Asad Malik an AR Storytelling, which is a documentary that explores the present day Muslims and their struggle in the US through the spectacles of airport interrogation. Terminal 3 is a unique set up, that takes place in 2 rooms, one is where the individual puts on a Microsoft HoloLens headset and uses voice commands to ask one of six holographic characters presented personal questions. At the end of the interrogation, you are to decide whether or not the “hologram” is allowed to enter the state. Once they’re finished, they step out into another room — where they meet the actual people the characters are based on.
#Terminal3 the Augmented Reality experience will be premiering at #tribeca2018 tomorrow.

The project is also based on Asad Malik’s own experience, In Malik’s own words, “If you strip away all the institutional agenda, it’s really just two people with an absurd power dynamic sitting down, how the conversation goes while one person tries to figure out the other person,” said Malik. “It’s a weird, rich way to get to know someone if you desire to. That’s kind of what we’re trying to enable with the experience. You can ask questions that would lead you to a rich story, or you can ask questions that may not.”
Mr. Asad J Malik is doing a very commendable job at bringing forth the realities that are still faced by everyday Muslims and that Islamophobia is still very much active in the US and needs to deal as a proper social problem. What do you think about it? Comment below.
