Toyota and BNKR introduces the very first hybrid skate park in Rome, Italy and more sites across the globe. The project inspiration is “When you are free to move, anything is possible”, which brings a site for adaptive and non-adaptive people and unlocking the mobility for all. Their campaign “Start Your Own Impossible” is a worldwide convene to help change people’s perspective of seeing Toyota as a mobility company rather than a car manufacturer.
The very first female athlete in Europe, Lily Rice, who is physically impaired landed her first back flip on wheelchair in 2018 in Wheelchair Motor Cross (WCMX) World Championship. The silver medalist commented, “The Start Your Impossible campaign shows people that just because we have a physical impairment doesn’t mean it’s going to stop us.” She further added, “Toyota says that when we are free to move, anything is possible; and the Hybrid Skate park proves this.”
Toyota and BNKR Hybrid Skate park hosts a number of wheeled free sports all at one location namely, Bicycle Motor Cross (BMX), Olympic Skateboarding, and Wheelchair Motor Cross (WCMX). This Hybrid Park is created to help and give new and healthy environment to the people who are physically and mentally challenged. Toyota motivates participation and active play among all abilities and ages.
They conducts summer school, innovative skate therapy program and skate camps designed for the necessities of athletes with impairments.
