Trump Cuts WHO Funds Over Coronavirus Outbreak
Donald Trump announces to halt funding to WHO over mismanagement of the coronavirus outbreak. His decision has sparked an outrage on the internet.
Trump has temporarily halted funding to the World Health Organization over poor handling of the pandemic. He mentioned that the WHO has failed to perform its duty and must be held accountable for their actions.
The White House tweeted:
“President @realDonaldTrump is halting funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess WHO’s role in mismanaging the Coronavirus outbreak.”
However, there are many experts who disagree with Trump and his statement. He has reacted very poorly to the situation but cutting findings of such an organization that has been trying to do everything in its capacity to contain the virus. Reporter at CNN, Marshal Cohen replied to the situation:
“President Trump’s anger toward the WHO, and his insistence that they dropped the ball and are responsible for this pandemic, would have some credibility if he hadn’t spent all of January and February downplaying the virus, spreading unscientific information, and praising China.”

This was never a hoax or conspiracy. It was a dire threat to this country that the President ignored. That’s the reason the US is now the epicenter of this crisis.

United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres said:
“Now is the time for unity and for the international community to work together in solidarity to stop this virus and its shattering consequences”
The whole world is condemning his decision, from laymen to journalists and even representatives of WHO. Everyone around the globe understands that the blame game needs to be stopped more solutions need to be found to curb the virus. The US has already become the epicenter of coronavirus with over 600,000.
If President Trump has taken notice of the virus and all the warnings given to him earlier, then this wouldn’t have happened as most countries acted immediately after detecting even a few cases. The death toll in the US is currently over 26,000 and continues to increase.
