US to Extend Embargo on Iran Weapons Trade

US has revised the United Nations Revolution in order to extend the embargo on Iran Weapons Trade.

US blames Iran for making Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs). However, Iran has continuously denied such accusations, that have mostly come from the US. As to be on the safe side, the US sanctioned Iran, which stopped it from importing weapons in the country. Where on one hand Iran kept telling that all the uranium being imported was for research purposes, there on the other hand the US was adamant on their stance, that Iran was exporting for nuclear weapons. However, Iran and the UN made a deal where Iran told that they wouldn’t import Uranium regardless. Being stated, they would be allowed to trade, although.

However, the POTUS, Donald Trump, backed off the Nuclear Deal, and sanctioned Iran again. However, it was to end in the year 2020. But now, the US has revised the UN legislation on Iran’s arms trade. And they have pondered upon extending it till an undecided date. Iranians, obviously, reacted to the matter. “This is a very illegal resolution and in fact, it uses the Security Council mechanisms to destroy the Security Council. I’m confident that this resolution will be rejected too,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters in Tehran.

Nevertheless, there are still countries who are supporting Iran in the United Nations. Countries like Russia and China are all ready to veto the resolution, if passed. They both might not be with Iranians, but surely are against the United States of America. There still needs to be voting and 9/15 members need to say yes, which is highly unlikely. Iran is in dire need to change their equipment, which is more than outdated. It not only weakens their army but is a threat to their national security.
