Najam Sethi is infamous for his journalism and strong opinions regarding the injustice in Pakistan’s political system. His straightforwardness and aggressive writing gets him the limelight quite often. Similar happened when, in a video interview released on social media, he put Pakistani cricket under fire and brought to the front the ever-present Lahore-Karachi rift.
Towards the end of the video, Sethi accuses legendary fast bowler and former captain Waqar Younis of being a bad coach saying that despite him appointing Younis, his performance was unsatisfactory.
Inevitably, this started off a Twitter feud with Waqar Younis responding to Sethi’s bold statements regarding this and the overall work environment of the PCB.
Waqar blasted the former PCB chief claiming that he was partaking in ‘dirty politics’.
“Your [Najam Sethi] days in cricket are well over dear. Stick to your dirty politics,” said Younis, in a tweet on Monday.
He also figured that he was being called a sifarshi tola and was greatly angered at Sethi’s word.

People thought Waqar Younis’ response was rather inappropriate since Sethi had only pointed out factual negatives about the cricket atmosphere in Pakistan.
Najam Sethi is spot on!
Handful of people with a meaningful contribution to the country!Vicky bhai heed your own advice, and stay out of ‘dirty politics’ that you’re furthering through this tweet.

They further accused Waqar of ruining other player’s careers and the cricket culture of the country.

However, fans of the fast bowler stood up to support and appreciate his contribution.
Choray Waqar Bhai; don't need to stoop to his level. You're a legend of the game and will be an eternal fav for us true cricket fans. Daffa karay Sethi jessay logo ko… keep your dignity intact instead of getting involved in a mud slinging game with the Sethis
