The picture shows our Pakistani team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in a white shalwar kameez paired with a dark green coat on top. Cheers to Sarfaraz for wearing his traditional attire at an event overseas. True patriotism being displayed by our team captain.
Before unveiling the trophy for the world cup 2019, there was a 60-second challenge where Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousufzai and former ODI captain Azhar Ali represented Pakistan. England won the challenge, Pakistan came 7th and India finished at 10th. Then the official world cup song sung by LORYN was played.
After the challenge former Australian skipper Michael Clarke and England’s former spinner Graeme Swann unveiled the World Cup trophy which marked the official commencement of the World Cup 2019 tournament.
The first match will be played today i.e Thursday, 30th of May 2019 between the hosts England and South Africa. We wish best of luck to all the teams and may the best one win!
