According to NCOC, 70% of the cases in Pakistan are reported from the 5 cities, that are Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi.
In Pakistan, 70% of the cases are reported from the five major cities, that are Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi, according to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) data released on Sunday, November 29th.
At a meeting, the NCOC was informed that Mirpur, Hyderabad, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar were among the top cities where corona cases have been rising continuously. The number of total cases in the country has risen to 3,98,024, with around 2,839 recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths is 8,025, with 40 in the last 24 hours and the number of recovered cases in the country is 3,41,423 with 1,613 in the last 24 hours, with 70% of cases from the 5 major cities.
During the last week, 46 deaths and around 3,000 new cases were recorded daily on an average.
Currently, the number of active cases in the country are 47,390. Among these, 2,046 are stated to be in critical conditions and the number of critical patients is rising fast.
While 2,564 patients were on oxygenated beds on Sunday. Punjab has 620 critical patients, Sindh has 681, KP 488, Islamabad 315, AJK 50, and Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan have 16 patients each.
The NCOC was informed that 45 of the 71 ventilators were occupied in Islamabad, 34 of the 112 ventilators were occupied in Peshawar, 63 of the 239 ventilators were occupied in Lahore and 61 of the 404 ventilators were occupied in Karachi.
With the second wave of corona hitting Pakistan, once again the government has been taking proper precautions as strict orders have been passed to close markets at 8 pm and restaurants at 10, while only outdoor dining is allowed.
