Meesha Shafi Sings For Amazon Prime Indian Movie Hush Hush
The director of Hush Hush, Tanuja Chandra, thanks Meesha Shafi for the masterpiece "Mere Mahru" and for singing it from across the oceans.
Meesha Shafi’s lyrical voice from the new Hush Hush series on Amazon Prime India, which also stars Juhi Chawla, Kritika Kamra, Soha Ali Khan, Shahana Goswami, Karishma Tanna, and others, is a cross-border partnership that has made its way onto our playlist.
On Sunday, the song titled “Mere Mahru” was released on YouTube. It begins with Chawla exercising at dusk, followed by scenes from her day with the other female characters and Shafi’s powerful notes. Tanuja Chandra, the director of the performance, described her pleasure of hearing the song for the first time on Instagram. She said received ‘Mere Mahru’ from Arijit Datta as a voice note, and she adored it. “I’m so happy to have it in Hush Hush, it’s kind of the beating heart of the series,” she added.
She encouraged her fans to let the song transport them while praising the song’s author Sameer Rahat and Shafi’s “beautiful voice.”
The show’s female cast members Chawla, Tanna, Ali Khan, Kamra, and others are shown in the music video. “Thank you for trusting me with this Tanuja Chandra. Arijit Datta and Sameer Rahat it was an absolute pleasure to sing this most special song.” Shafi wrote on her Instagram stories.
Chandra praised Shafi for singing for them “from beyond oceans” in a repost of her Instagram story. She added that she was delighted Shafi crossed her mind when she asked actor Sania Saeed for the contact information for the singer of “Muaziz Saarif” during their conversation.
Hush Hush is about four friends who find themselves falling into a rabbit hole of lies, treachery, and secrets following a frightening meeting at a party, according to Amazon Prime. Their shared secrets become the driving force for their enduring relationship when their comfortable, privileged existence is turned upside down. The show includes seven episodes in total and is currently viewable on the OTT platform.
