A Potential Decrease in Child Abuse

Pakistan has seen a potential decrease in the number of Child Abuses in Pakistan. But it needs to lessen even more.

Pakistanis have high expectations from the current government and, at most, people are looking for elimination of child abuse in the country. Child abuse in Pakistan takes place, regardless of gender, age, cast or creed. It comes out of the filthiest of the minds in our country. Yet, the saddest part of it is, that many of such cases go unreported. And if they are reported, many of the culprits are not arrested because of unavailable or limited proof. However, Pakistan has seen a decrease in the number of child abuses in the country.

According to the reports, 2,846 cases of child abuse were reported in 2019 in Pakistan. If seen in depth, 405 children went missing, 778 kids were abducted, 384 were cases of sodomy, 205 of gang sodomy cases , 210 rape attempts, 279 rapes and 115 of gang rape came up.

However, on the other hand, in 2018, there were 3,832 cases of child abuse. There has been 25.7% decrease in child abuse, which is a notable amount, per se. If seen according to gender, 54% of those who have been victims are girls and 46% are boys.

Although it is still in process, but people are demanding public hanging for those who are involved in child abuse. Not only because they deserve it, but also because it would set an example for others too. Nevertheless, there are issues in such punishment too, regarding human rights. But again, something has to be done. And it has to be done soon, to bring the number of victims as close to zero as possible.
