‘Aagahi’ Campaign Selected for Cannes Lions 2019
'Aagahi' is an awareness campaign for women, which is produced by SOC Films. It has been nominated at Cannes Lions 2019.
Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s in an Academy and Emmy award winning journalist and documentary filmmaker who opened her own film house based in Karachi. She has worked tirelessly to highlight women’s rights and her contribution towards this particular cause has been tremendously appreciated, both locally and globally.

Her ‘Aagahi’ campaign which is an initiative to raise awareness for basic rights has been nominated at the 66th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. It is an animated series where basic rights of women are explained in detail. Her aim is to educate women about the laws and structures of the country. Aagahi is the first ever Pakistani series to ever be nominated at Cannes Lions.
Every single animated short film is made on a different topic such as how to file an FIR as women need to know how to report crimes. Amina Sheikh does voice over for these short films and explains in Urdu so that it can reach masses. All these short films are designed and produced by SOC Films in collaboration with Women Action Forum.
