Adobe Is Bringing Illustrator to iPads in 2020

Adobe is bringing its one of the desktop-graphic apps to iPad. Illustrator is set to launch in 2020. Similarly last year, Adobe announced to deliver Photoshop for iPad, which launched on App store earlier this week.

Illustrator for iPad is till under early development, so we don’t know what the app exactly look like relative to the desktop version. However, the Vector Graphics has been optimized for the tablet feature core Illustrator tools like path and typography in addition to new tools developed particularly for the touch experience.

Illustrator on iPad will have Cloud similar to Creative Cloud. Therefore, all Cloud documents can be downloaded to the device and made available offline. This will help you continue your work on files in situations when you don’t have internet connection.

The app has been in work the work for a while, according to Adobe senior product marketing manager Wayne Hoang. “We’ve been thinking about bringing vector capabilities to the iPad for a long time. [Some of the features have] just been waiting for the hardware to catch up so we can actually implement them,” he says. The app is a combined effort between the core Illustrator team and designers who have worked on Adobe’s other new iPad apps, like the painting and Fresco.

The app will be available in a limited private beta beginning immediately. The group of these with access will remain very tight until Adobe has managed to get further doing in the development process.

There’s no pricing information yet, but if pricing for Fresco and Photoshop for iPad are any indication, Illustrator for iPad could be included as part of a Creative Cloud subscription, and offered at a standalone monthly price for non-Creative Cloud subscribers.
