AKUH Introduces Child Connect
Child Connect by AKUH is a free of cost solution for parents as children may not be able to fully convey the discomfort they are feeling due to an illness.
On August 17, the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) launched Child Connect. It is a free of cost solution for parents as children may not be able to fully convey the discomfort or pain they are feeling due to an illness.
Through Child Connect, parents can now call AKUH and get connected to an on-call Pediatrician Clinician so that they are able to get medical advice for free. This advice will be based on the child’s medical history.
Child Connect will provide the parents with a diagnosis and their next course of action. This can include necessary prescription and facilitation with appointments and Emergency care.
Dr Abdul Ghaffar Billoo, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, spoke at the event. He said, “During the pandemic, it has been extremely difficult for parents to connect with the hospital or a doctor. Child Connect will make it easier for parents to access paediatricians for timely child care.”
The interim CEO, Shagufta Hassan, added to his point, “During this catastrophe, we want to continue focusing on quality. We aim to keep innovating and improving child healthcare services on everyday basis.”
