Alibaba Hits $13bn in First Hour of Singles’ Day Sale
Alibaba earned almost $13bn within one hour of their Singles' Day sale. Their 11.11 sale has been getting better and better every year.
Alibaba Group Holding Limited is a Chinese multinational conglomerate holding company specializing in e-commerce, retail, Internet, and technology. Founded by Jack Ma, it’s one of the largest e-commerce website. Although Jack Ma resigned back in September, he has left us all a platform that is excelling day by day. Alibaba has acquired Daraz.pk in Pakistan which has been doing great too ever since.

Just like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Alibaba has its own sale day called the Double Eleven. They posted on their twitter saying that this year’s sales have surpassed the total number of delivery orders of of 2017. It has only been 10 hours since this year’s 11.11 sale went up and it’s already doing great.

11.11 has been a huge success for Alibaba for the past 9 years. Every year they break their own record and create new ones. This was the first time that we couldn’t see Jack Ma at the live stream. Yes, they live-streamed it and Taylor Swift performed at the event. They did the countdown until the sale went live and it’s probably one of the world’s largest sales ever.
Daraz, which is owned by Alibaba, also has a sale going on called the 11.11. We’re eager to see them succeed too because they’ve made online shopping very easy in Pakistan. With over 80lac deals, Daraz has become the pioneer and a leader when it comes to e-commerce in Pakistan. They have something for everyone on their website, that is the main attraction for most people.
