Apple Inc Shifting Its iPhone 14 Manufacturing From China to India

Apple Inc wants to begin producing the iPhone 14 in India as the US tech giant explores alternatives to China following the Xi administration’s disputes with Washington and nationwide lockdowns, according to Bloomberg News.
According to the article, which cited people familiar with the situation, the firm has been collaborating with suppliers to speed up manufacturing in India and cut the gap in creating new iPhones from the customary six to nine months for past releases.
Based on the source, Apple’s Taiwanese supplier Foxconn has analysed the process of transporting goods from China and manufacturing the iPhone 14 at its factory from outside Chennai, India.
The very first iPhone 14 batch from India is expected to be ready at the end of October or November, according to the source.
Apple Inc did not react quickly to Reuters’ request for further information.
The corporation has moved some iPhone manufacturing away from China to certain other regions, notably India, the world’s second-largest smartphone industry, and plans to produce iPad tablets there as well.
As contract manufacturers aim to spread manufacturing away from China, and India other nations also including Mexico and Vietnam are now becoming extremely valuable in the smartphone industry.
The 3 Apple licensees are part of the Indian administration’s assistance program for mobile production. To qualify for the incentives, they must produce items worth at least Rs 8,000 crore this year.
