Ariana Grande Finalises Divorce From Dalton Gomez, Agrees To $1.25 Million Settlement
The couple, who officially split in February 2023, finally bid adieu to each other.
Pop sensation Ariana Grande has officially said ‘Thank U, Next’ to her ex-husband Delton Gomez. The couple is officially divorced, with the Grammy-winning singer agreeing to pay $1.25 million as part of their split.
From the outset, it seemed this breakup was destined for a swift resolution. Thanks to a prenuptial agreement and a lack of messy legal entanglements. However, court documents obtained by PEOPLE revealed that Ariana would pay Delton a one-time settlement of $1,250,000. Delton would not receive spousal support, and his payment would be tax-free and delivered upfront.
As part of their agreement, Delton would receive half of the net proceeds from the sale of their former Los Angeles home. Ariana would also cover up to $25,000 of his attorney fees.
Ariana filed for divorce in September 2023, and Dalton responded right away. Although they officially split in February 2023, people only found out about it in July 2023. Sources said Ariana and Dalton were taking their time to sort everything out privately.
Their journey from I do to I don’t has been anything but conventional. A whirlwind romance that began in January 2020 and went public in May of that year in Ariana’s music video with Justin Bieber, ‘Stuck with U’.
They got engaged in December 2020 and tied the knot in a small ceremony at Ariana’s home in Montecito, California, on May 15, 2021.
Yet, as swiftly as it began, their love story came to an end, with whispers of discord surfacing as early as 2023.
Since news of their split, Ariana has been spotted with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, 31, who was previously married to Lilly Jay and shares a son with her.
On the work front, the singer and actor shared the first look from her upcoming movie Wicked a day after this fiasco.
She plays the role of Glinda in the musical, appearing angelic in a pink ballgown and a tiara on her head while she is surrounded by tulips and can be seen holding a wand in her hand.
