Asian Man Lands in Jail due to Social Media Stunt

If you're caught doing something that goes against the laws then you'll definitely get arrested.

An Asian Man in Dubai was arrested because he was seen throwing dirhams and showing off his wealth. In a video that got went viral, a man was seen throwing cash in the air and showing off. He said that he wanted to become famous which is why he made this video, a social media stunt basically.

The video was reported to the Cyber Crime Department in Dubai Police because it went so viral. Police took action against it and arrested the person. Col Al Qasim was quoted by Gulf News as saying:

The man was arrested after he was identified by the Cyber Crime Department at Dubai Police. He admitted of throwing the money to get more likes and followers and to become a celebrity on social media.

The Asian Man wanted to gain fame and become a celebrity on social media therefore, he pulled this publicity stunt. The man in who is probably in his 30s, is seen throwing cash all over the place. This craze and obsession with social media has now getting people arrested, we’ve taken it too far I guess.

He got arrested under UAE cyber-crime laws. Col Al Qasim also said:

People should know the law. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Article 29 from the cyber-crime law states that people who publish news or rumours in purpose of mocking or damaging the country’s reputation shall be punished with jail and fine up to Dh1 million
