Asim Azhar has announced his engagement to Merub Ali

Asim Azhar’s engagement has become the front and center of headlines across Pakistan. The musical sensation announced his engagement to his family friend Merub Ali on Instagram.
Asim Azhar had taken to Instagram to make the announcement of his engagement.
The singer uploaded the video of his engagement to Instagram along with the following caption, “Shukar Alhamdulillah [Thank you God]. With the grace of Allah Almighty and our parent’s duas, we announce our Imam Zamin – engagement. May Allah SWT and Ahlebait keep us protected and this happy forever, Aameen. Keep us in your prayers.”
Many celebrities took to Instagram to congratulate Asim Azhar and Merub Ali on their engagement. These include the likes of Aima Baig, Aahad Nayani and Sajal Aly.
Rumors had been speculating online for quite some time that Asim Azhar and Merub Ali were both cousins. Some of the rumors went as far as to say that they were step siblings! However, Asim Azhar shot down such claims.
In an interview on the YouTube channel “Something Haute”, the singer claimed that she is a family friend. He also went on to claim that they have known each other since childhood and have gotten closer together ever since.
The news of Asim Azhar’s engagement will definitely leave some of his female fans heartbroken. Many of whom have for the longest had a crush on the singer since his early days in music.
While he started his career in 2013, he shot to mainstream success in 2016 following his work on Coke Studio Season 9. He has since became a household name and one of the most successful young male artists in Pakistan.
