Babar Azam Prepared for Pakistan vs. New Zealand
Babar Azam, the new captain of Pakistan's cricket team, has announced that the Pakistani team is prepared for Pakistan vs. New Zealand tour!
Babar Azam, Pakistan cricket team captain, has assured the media that his team is fully prepared for Pakistan vs New Zealand in the upcoming tour. During a press conference, Azam expressed confidence in his team’s ability and said, “Our team is very excited to go on its New Zealand tour and players are in the right frame of mind to perform to the best of their ability and potential.”
Even though New Zealand is a tough team, and Pakistan vs New Zealand will be a challenge- he is not worried. “We will enjoy the tour and make efforts to play a good game,” he told the reporters and noted that Pakistan’s record with New Zealand was good.
“We always face challenges and playing abroad is a difficult task, but we have been playing well when abroad. For example, we showed a good performance in England,” he said. However, he did stress the fact that players will need to work hard to stay in form and prove themselves and win Pakistan vs New Zealand series.
Moreover, upon speculation of grouping within the team, Azam shrugged off such rumors and said, “the objective is to play for Pakistan and strive to achieve glory for the country”. He further appreciated previous captains Sarfaraz Ahmed and Azhar Ali, saying that he has learned a great deal for them and shall consult them for future decisions.
Pakistan team will leave for New Zealand on November 23 and will complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine period in Lincoln. The three-match T20 series will begin by 18th December and end on 22nd December.
After Pakistan vs New Zealand, The ICC World Test Championship fixtures will be played in Mount Maunganui and Christchurch from December 26-30 and January 3-7, respectively.
