Craving a little snack during the night? Well, we have a healthy snack recipe for you that will satisfy all your cravings. We give you Baked Apple Chips! Don’t they sound appetizing?
What You’ll Need:
- 1 cup of water
- 2 apples
- Cinnamon to dust on top of the chips
- Juice of 1 lemon
For the Cashew Cinnamon Dip:
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 medium apple (cored and quartered)
- 1 cup raw cashews
- ½ cup water
Method:
- Add the cashews in a bowl of water and cover it. Let them sit in there for a few hours or even overnight.
- Preheat oven to 200F.
- Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper
- Add the lemon juice in a glass bowl with water. The bowl should be deep enough so that the apples can be rinsed in there.
- Cut the apple in thin slices and run them through the lemon water.
- Place each apple slice on the baking sheet, sprinkle some cinnamon on top and place in the oven.
- Flip the apple slices after 90 minutes. Your apples will be done when they are crisped up; this might take around 3 hours. Also, they will further crisp up as they cool.
- While your apples are cooking, drain the cashews and thrown them in a food processor along with the honey, quartered apple and cinnamon. Slowly mix water in it until you reach the desired consistency. Sprinkle some salt if desired.
- Serve the apple chips with the cashew cinnamon dip.
