British PM, Boris Johnson, Admitted to Hospital
Boris Johnson, British PM, has been admitted to the hospital for further tests as his symptoms did not subside post self-isolation after being tested positive.
British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has reportedly been admitted to the hospital. He had announced 10 days earlier that he tested positive for coronavirus. Even after 10 days, his symptoms did not subdue and he had to be admitted. He constantly had high fever which did not seem to go away. Although his condition is not critical, it is still unknown when he will be leaving the hospital.
A British government source, after being inquired about the state of PM Boris Johnson, said:
“The PM is still at hospital. He spent the night in hospital.”
Boris Johnson had been self-isolating himself after he announced his test results. However, his symptoms were still there and had not subsided. He has been admitted to the hospital for further tests. His team also mentioned that there’s nothing to worry about as it’s not an emergency. It is just a precautionary step to conduct further tests as suggested by his doctor.
They also added:
“The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the government’s advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.”
He is still in charge and will be fulfilling his duties remotely. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will chair the government’s emergency COVID-19 meeting on Monday.
Pm Boris Johnson’s fiancee Carrie Symonds also experienced the symptoms, she tweeted:
“I’ve spent the past week in bed with the main symptoms of coronavirus. I haven’t needed to be tested and, after seven days of rest, I feel stronger and I’m on the mend.”
