Cardi B’s outfit sparked controversy at Paris Fashion Week

Leave it to Cardi B for taking the extra mile.

Rapper Cardi B made headlines over the weekend for her Richard Quinn outfit at Paris Fashion Week. And not exactly for the right reasons.

Cardi B announced via an Instagram post that she was in Paris for Fashion Week saying, “PARIS FASHION WEEK, IM HERE!”

By now you must have seen pictures of her posing in front of the Eiffel Tower, dressed in a green-blue, head to toe covered floral outfit. So it comes with a headscarf, a fabric face mask, a coat, skirt, leggings; just see for yourself. Cardi B

Back in 2010, France banned full-faced veils and head scarfs, which basically affected Muslim women who wear the hijab for religious purposes. The UN Human Rights Committee in 2018 stated, in reference to this ban, that “rather than protecting fully veiled women, could have the opposite effect of confining them to their homes, impeding their access to public services and marginalizing them”.

Twitter went on a frenzy about how it was unfair to ban Muslim women from wearing a veil, and when Cardi B does, she is celebrated for it.

Actress Nathalie Emmanuel, famously known for her character Missandei on Game of Thrones, tweeted about France’s double-standards.
