Careem Introduces In-App Donations due to COVID-19

Careem will now be providing in-app donation option for customers so they can donate COVID-19 testing kits to hospitals and items of essential needs to those who have been most impacted by the pandemic.

They have also been collaborating with leading charities by distributing hundreds of ration bags daily. These charities include Saylani Welfare Trust, Karachi Relief Fund and Rizq.

Careem users will be able to donate via Careem PAY or through debit as well as credit cards. The relief packages range from Rs 1700 to Rs 3700 including delivery cost, helping a family of four fulfilling essential needs for up to three weeks. Customers can also choose to donate a testing kit to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital for Rs 8000.

A relief bag will include groceries such as flour, rice, daal, oil and salt. With some partners Careem will also be executing the delivery of relief packages to deserving households which are part of the initiative.
